Alex Sun works from Shanghai her studio in Shanghai where she was born, and the island of Singapore where she lives with her husband and daughter. She paints in acrylic and oils on canvas. She enjoys painting from photographs she recorded in everyday life. Her paintings are nostalgic and reflective of the islands that have shaped her journey and personal story. She draws inspiration from nature, travels, her own lives and her family, especially the recent arrival of her daughter which jumpstarted her painting after a decade hiatus interrupted by a career in finance. In the healing journey of painting she found therapy for stress and trauma, the process of recreating memorable landscapes and human bondages are both enjoyable and divine. 

Alex started painting from 1997, she preserved this precious habit for 27 years despite a career in finance and her work were acquired by collectors around the world.
